Meet The Canal and River Trust Volunteer
Lock Keepers
We volunteer lock keepers play a crucial role during the busy summer
boating season by:-
- Helping to conserve water by ensuring the locks are used efficiently.
- Assisting both first time boaters and old hands alike in operating the
Gates & Paddles
- Providing a friendly face and a helping hand along with local
knowledge of the area, the canal and its history
- Undertaking low level maintenance tasks such as painting, litter
picking, and gardening
